(Snøhetta)

(Stefan Behnisch)

(Kengo Kuma)

What makes architecture of the near future different!
Architecture of the near future refers to buildings that have a futuristic appearance and functionality due to advances in current building technology and design, efforts to address environmental issues, and the introduction of new technologies.
For example, buildings of the near future are expected to use energy-efficient building materials and systems and harness natural energy to reduce their impact on the global environment. Building forms and functions will also evolve to be more efficient and sustainable.
In addition, new technologies are expected to be actively employed in the architecture of the near future. For example, the introduction of artificial intelligence and robots in buildings could improve comfort and safety, as well as make building operations and maintenance smarter.
While there are many possibilities for architecture in the near future, buildings will need to be environmentally friendly, functional, and beautiful in order to enrich people's lives.

Concrete Initiatives
Examples of specific initiatives in near-future architecture include the following
Use of energy-efficient building materials and systems
In the architecture of the near future, we expect to see efforts to increase energy efficiency through the use of natural energy sources, such as solar and wind power generation. In addition, technologies to reduce environmental impact, such as the use of high-performance insulation materials and energy-saving equipment, are evolving.
Building Design for Sustainability
The architecture of the near future is expected to incorporate natural light and wind and maximize thermal efficiency through the shape and layout of buildings. Sustainability is also being considered in the form of greening around buildings and the introduction of recycling systems inside buildings.
New Technologies
In the architecture of the near future, it is expected that artificial intelligence and robots will be introduced to monitor and control the interior of buildings in a smarter manner. In addition, sensors and devices utilizing IoT technology are expected to be installed inside buildings to enable centralized control of the entire building.
These efforts will contribute to the realization of environmentally friendly buildings and improvements in building comfort and safety in the architecture of the near future, as well as promote the evolution of building technology and the creation of new value.

Near-Future Architects Around the World
There are people all over the world who are working to develop environmentally friendly building designs and technologies in near-future architecture. The following are just a few examples.
Norwegian architects Snøhetta (Snøhetta)
Snøhetta is an architect working on projects all over the world, focusing on designing environmentally friendly buildings. For example, he designed Masdar City in the United Arab Emirates and the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in the Arctic Circle.
German Architect Stefan Behnisch
Stefan Behm is an architect based in Germany who designs environmentally friendly buildings. For example, he has designed a building for the Ministry of the Environment in Munich, Germany, and a sports facility at Harvard University in the United States.
Japanese Architect Kengo Kuma
Kengo Kuma is a leading Japanese architect who focuses on designing buildings in harmony with nature. For example, he designed the Shibuya Fukurasta office building in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, and the Kyoto University of Art and Design Bamboo and Wood Building Material Laboratory, a bamboo and wood museum in Kyoto Prefecture.
These architects are actively involved in the design of environmentally friendly buildings and the development of technology, contributing to the evolution of architecture in the near future.
