English edition

This is the first time I am updating today's blabber in about two months.

The content of my blabber is about "debates.

The debate tournament sponsored by the faculty was held, and it was an important event for the seminar to win the championship for the seventh year in a row. Debate is something I have a strong interest in, so much so that I even wrote about it in my application to the university!

It was customary for the debate to be held in the junior year, but it was also possible to do it in the sophomore year if you volunteered! So I raised my hand and ......

The attitude to work on it was higher than I had imagined. I was more determined than I had imagined. I felt that this was not supposed to be the case.

However, as we worked out how to discuss the issues, how to find the holes, and how to break them down, each game became more and more fulfilling.

This year's topic was whether or not a basic income system should be introduced.

I will write more about it in this blog shortly.

I learned "perspectives and values" and "how to communicate " this year.

Because of the advanced nature of the subject matter this time, there was a tendency to leap to logic. Many arguments focused on numbers and attributed them to economic effects and economic losses because of preconceived notions that they were only within the faculty.

However, judges are largely in the category of "ordinary people." For example, some people place importance on ethics, and some people think in general terms. The fact that we were not able to come up with an argument that would convince such people is something we can reflect on in the future, and "how to communicate" is equally important.

It was a good opportunity for me to think again about how to clearly and concisely communicate "what is the purpose of introducing this plan and what advantages and disadvantages will accrue to whom", which may seem simple but is the most difficult issue.

I would like to look back on some of these issues as well as the theory behind the introduction of BI.

That's all for today!
