岸田文雄首相は4日、LGBTなど性的少数者や同性婚を巡り「見るのも嫌」と差別発言をした荒井勝喜首相秘書官を更迭した。首相は視察先の福井県坂井市で記者団に「大変深刻に受け止めている。任命責任を感じている」と語った。首相が政治任用した秘書官が問題発言で更迭されるのは異例。国会審議への影響を避けるため事態収拾を急いだが、内閣支持率の低迷が続く政権運営が厳しさを増すのは確実。野党は、政権中枢の人権意識欠如の表れだとして徹底追及する。
しかしながら、ほんの数日前に首相自ら１日の衆院予算委で、同性婚の法制化に関し「極めて慎重に検討すべき課題だ」と述べ、否定的な考えを改めて示した。同性カップルに結婚の自由を認めようとしない理由について「家族観や価値観、社会が変わってしまう課題だ」と強調した。
この発言には疑問が残る。世界主要国は時代とともに価値観の変化に順応して法制度も変更されているのに、日本だけは何十年も前の法律を今も当てはまると信じて施行している。
選択的夫婦別姓制度をめぐっては、早稲田大学の棚村政行教授と市民グループ｢選択的夫婦別姓・全国陳情アクション｣が2020年11月に調査結果を発表。｢選択的夫婦別姓｣について、｢自分は同姓がよい。他の夫婦はどちらでも構わない｣｢自分は別姓を選べるとよい｣と答えた賛成の割合が7割を超えているというデータもあります。
やはり保守的な考えは以前からずっと変わらないようですが、このままでも内閣支持率は下る一方です。
なぜ混乱を招くのか、なぜ変えてはいけないのか。
これに対する説明責任を果たし、国民を納得させる必要があるではないでしょうか。
